Sam Nakane leaves i2 to pursue other interests
DALLAS --
March 31, 2004i2 Technologies, Inc. (OTC: ITWO), a leading provider of closed-loop supply chain management solutions, today announced that Hiten Varia has assumed the role of president of the company’s Greater Asia-Pacific Region. Varia replaces Sam Nakane, who has left the company to pursue other interests.
Varia has been with i2 since 1995 in a variety of leadership roles in consulting, and solutions development and delivery. He most recently served the company as chief customer officer. In addition to his new role, he will continue to serve as executive sponsor for a wide variety of customer initiatives within the company.
As region president, Varia will be responsible for all sales, marketing, operations, services and support in the fast-growing Greater Asia-Pacific Region, which includes Australia, China, India, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.
"Hiten has successfully led a variety of business units during his years at i2, and has spent a great deal of time working with customers in this region," said i2 CEO Sanjiv Sidhu. "His previous experience will serve him well in his new role."
i2 also announced that former chief financial officer Bill Beecher will extend his tenure with the company beyond the first quarter of 2004. Beecher stepped down from his position as CFO in January of this year and is currently principally working on activities related to the company’s financial position. He remains an executive vice president of the company.
