Savvion/i2 Alliance

i2 and Savvion have partnered since 1998 to provide configurable business process modeling and workflow management for i2 Supplier Relationship Management customers. Savvion is employed in the suite as SRM Workflow Manager, which provides a certified implementation with data, event, task management, and UI integration to the Supplier Relationship Management environment.

Using SRM Workflow Manager, customers can implement reference workflows to manage approval and change management processes using a graphically defined template, or define customized workflows to suit the conditional routing and departmental involvement required for their unique business processes. These workflows can be extensive and support multiple instances of these templates at a given time. Users are engaged in the workflow through inbox tasks and interaction panels, which present the necessary information and required user actions to sustain the process flow and make efficient use of user time.

For example, typical design workflows address new part introduction processes to support reuse and ensure that key design, component management, quality, sourcing, and manufacturing personnel are involved in the review and approval decision-making for adding new parts to the business. Other customer workflows developed provide knowledge sharing and drive consistency and compliance, for example by supporting a standard case management process for resolving component obsolescence issues. In Supplier Relationship Management Source deployments, customers can leverage Workflow Manager to standardize and police new supplier introductions or route post-negotiation award plans or contract updates through the respective commodity managers and sourcing stakeholders to ensure awareness, policy compliance, and change authorization with traceability.
